3rd duel - [action]

[Should you come to the tea shop today, you'll likely run across one (1) Utena Tenjou enjoying a cup of tea. And she is enjoying it, but it tastes... off to her. Maybe it's because she's so used to Himemiya's tea--no other tea has tasted right since her arrival to Luceti. Still, tea's tea and this does taste pretty good.

She takes out her journal while she enjoys, writing up a letting to her current Hydra Social penpal--Edward Elric.]

Hello there!

You're Edward, right? I'm not entirely sure if you're aware of it, but we're penpals for Project Hydra Social this time around. The whole project is supposed to be about making friends, right? Well, hopefully we can be good friends.

But I guess I should introduce myself first before any of that. My name's Utena Tenjou, and it's nice to meet you. Before I was brought to Luceti, I was an 8th grader at my school, Ohtori Academy. [Let's see, what else...] I really enjoy sports! Basketball, baseball, soccer, stuff like that. And what about you? What are your hobbies?

I guess I shouldn't make this too long, so I'll just stop here. I hope to hear from you soon!

-Utena

[With that out of the way, she once again puts the tea cup up to her lips. Something still seems off, or even missing... wow, this is really annoying.]

[He'll just bypass the intro-and-ending pleasantries since it's more like using the journal as normal, now.]

It's alright. I guess it works for some people, but I don't think it's all that smart to volunteer a bunch of people unwillingly just so they can "make friends". That's not something you should really be forcing. Nothing against you, though.

Alchemy's definitely not dead on my world- it's the most advanced form of science in my country, and maybe even the world. As for traveling, that's a pretty broad question. Travel is hard to summarize- it's really something you have to do yourself to understand. I guess it was fun sometimes, but since it was mostly for work, there wasn't as much time to enjoy it. I've definitely seen a lot more than most people my age.

I never volunteered for it. I don't mind, but I know some people have gotten pretty frustrating partners. And if you don't follow through with the letter-writing, that rabbit guy harasses you.

Back home I work for the military. I mostly traveled for research, but sometimes I had assignments to take down alchemists who broke the law, or other criminals.

It's fine, not your fault.

I probably did more research than they expected, and that's the problem. Exposing military secrets and all that. Some countries are really messed up.

Don't worry, it gets dealt with. And I'd like to think that somewhere out there is a world that isn't corrupted. I'm not holding my breath, but anything's possible.

I don't think that's possible- terrible things will always exist as long as there's people. My idea of a perfect world is one with a true balance of good and bad for everyone. That way no one suffers or succeeds more or less than anyone else. It's equivalent exchange.

You mean from my world, right? I've got a few. My childhood friend is here- Winry, if you know her. We're taking care of a little girl, Elicia. I knew her dad back home. And Ling, May, and Ran Fan are friends from a country across the desert from mine.

I don't know if it's a good thing or not to have them here, but I have no reason to complain. Anyway, they've actually been here longer than me, so if you want to get technical, it's me who showed up for them.

Even without people from home, you can still make friends here, right? That's part of what it means to travel- see new places, and meet new people. If you think of it that way, you've already done it.

Maybe. [He's not making any guarantees until he knows her better, but there's always a chance, right?] This kind of thing can take a while, you know.

I can't promise I'll be the best penpal or whatever you call this but I don't mind giving it a shot.
