Do you need any help? I remember how confused I was when I first showed up here. [And worried, and angry.]

[It's still a ridiculous uniform to him. Evidently it's not from the military, but then what else could it signify? Some sort of new religion?]

If you mean enclosures, this one's called Luceti.

You mean the wall is called Luceti around here? [That's... the best translation he can make of it. That he's landed himself in some backwater district with its own weird dialect and a different name for the nearest wall.]

[Asked without even thinking about it. But she has been curious anyway, right?]

[Jean's "world"? A world of booze, gambling and debauchery? Please. Marco only descends into that world every so often to get Jean's sorry ass out of there and carry him home.]

I assure you, missy, a Captain of the Military Police has no place in that world.

What's that supposed to mean? Obviously you are from his world, if that's what you have to say! [Like he knows Jean. Besides, he's claiming to be the captain of the Military Police.] Listen--I can explain what's going on, but what you need to get first is that this isn't where you think it is.

[Seriously, her wings are out in the open--but she has to wonder where his are. Is he hiding them under his trenchcoat?]

[The way he sees it, the wings are fake. There must be some sort of festival going on in this village. It's the only logical explanation. He isn't impressed by how mad this girl is getting at him, either.]

Then, where is it?

It's a different world entirely, and the people here are from many other worlds too. I know how it sounds, but it's the truth. I'm not from here, either. I'm from a planet called Earth, from a country called Japan, and I was going to a school called Ohtori Academy. [She takes out her journal, immediately looking for the guide to Luceti. She then offers her journal to him once she finds it.] One of my teachers here wrote a whole guide to this place. It's a really long read, but it tells you a lot about what's going on.

[A slight pause, before she decides to continue.]

I'm telling the truth. Jean's from a different world from me, too. He's the one who told me about the walls, the Survey Corps, and the Military Police.

[Marco's next 'logical explanation' is that this girl is on drugs and suffering from strong hallucinations. Which is odd, because she seems perfectly lucid and coherent, but they keep inventing new drugs by the week so who even knows?

Still, he takes the journal from her hand and flips through it, if only to indulge her. Sadly, what he finds only supports her story. Lots of different people, lots of entries about everyday life in Luceti and how to cope with it...]

Then, where you're from... There are no walls? No military? [...No titans?]

We don't have the kind of military that exists where you're from, no. No walls, either. Everything Jean's told me about his world is completely different from mine.

[And she still wishes she could help.]

[This girl... She keeps talking like she knows Jean very well. Like she considers him a friend. It strikes him as odd, because if they're from different worlds and haven't met before reaching this place, how much time would they have had to talk?]

I trust he hasn't been a burden to you.
